Traveling by Public Transport

The public transportation system in Stockholm is reliable and fairly punctual. You can travel by T-banan (the underground), commuter trains and buses. The SL transportation card for 24 and 72 hours is good for unlimited travel in the county of Stockholm and can be purchased at Tourist Information Offices, SL Ticket Offices and Pressbyrån kiosks. It is also possible to buy a single (or prepaid) ticket at the time of the journey. The ticket costs SEK 20 and is valid for unlimited travel during one hour. Underground stations can be identified by signs with a blue T on a white background. The commuter train stations are just as easily recognized - a blue J on a white background.

For information about public transport to Stockholm University, visit the local site of Stockholm Transport (SL) (English version is available).

Climate

In the month of September the weather in Sweden can be quite warm and sunny. The average daytime temperature is around 18ºC (65ºF). Stockholm is built on water and the water is clean enough to swim in, downtown Stockholm, but look out! The evenings get chilly and there might be some rain as well, so we recommend bringing a rain coat and warm clothing.
