Course description
The aim of the course is to provide students with in-depth knowledge of the substantive rules in the EC Treaty related to commercial law. The course aims to widen as well as deepen the knowledge of EC Commercial Law which the students have acquired in previous parts of the law programme. The focus of the course is on the rules on free movement of goods, services, establishment, capital and competition law.
The course consists of four different parts. The first part consists of lectures in which the students are taught basic knowledge of the EC Treaty articles and relevant secondary legislation related to commercial law. In the second part a series of seminars is given on key subjects relating to free movement and competition law. The third part of the course consists of academic seminars exploring particular legal issues regarding the internal market. The fourth part consists of case-seminars where groups of students will have to report and analyze a specific case. The course is concluded with a home exam.
