Field of work:
She was awarded a LL.D. degree in 1992, with a doctoral thesis addressing legal automation with special focus on computerisation in public administration. Legal implications of e-government remains as one of her major fields of work.
In addition to substantive components of IT law, e.g. privacy protection, she has had many years of experience of legal system design and management, given rise to information security issues and the need for electronic signatures etc.
Her current research project concerns "Data Protection in Global Networks: A comparative study between Europe and the Asia-Pacific region".
