My research topic is the concept of taxable events and its application in the income taxation of capital. This thesis aims to implement a systematic and comprehensive investigation of taxable events in taxation of capital income in the light of the realization principle and implications of a transaction-oriented taxation, to thereby shed some light on the distinction between the transactions that trigger capital income tax and those who do not.
