Case I: Geografisk information m.m.

Laila Aslesen

Statens kartverk, Norge

The presentation will start with some reflections on geographic information in the information age, and the role of the public sector in providing geographic information. Before discussing copyright, one has to approach the issue of financing public tasks, the various models that can be used, and the importance of a public sector policy and strategy on these issues. The question is then how to use copyright and related rights as a tool for carrying out the chosen policy. Legal issues such as personal data protection and public security are also a part of this. Finally an overview of the INSPIRE directive and its importance for access to public geographic information.

The presentation will be held in Norwegian.
